Ed Koran - Erving Forbush
This piece is dedictaed to the band as well as the late Mike Corl. May he Rest In Peace. I would also like to thank Guy Carol for helping to set this up.
This was one of the early recordings done at Peppermint Productions in Youngstown, OH. The studio is still in business (at least it was a few years ago) and ran by the same engineer who did that record (Gary Rhamy). This was the only record by this band who were 3 high school mates from Salem High School (the same school that Alan Freed graduated from).
The band only existed for less than a year with Mike Corl (Guy Corl’s father) on drums and bass, Terry A. Piersol on guitar and bass and (myself) Ed Koran on drums and guitar. The only airplay this record received was in an “on air” Battle of the Bands where it was pitted against Tod Rundgren (We Gotta Get You A Woman vs. Sally Funky Monday). As I recall, Sally Funky Monday won, but I don’t remember it going on to challenge anything else. The Radio station was Hot 101 out of Youngston, OH.
