Color Green’s Corey Madden debuts solo album “Taste the Hour” on Worried Songs :: 03/22
Hailing as one half of the extraordinary LA based duo Color Green, Corey Madden debuts his first solo album, “Taste the Hour” on Worried Songs and invites its listeners to delve deep into a psychedelic dilemma of melodic pastels and duplexed harmonies. Subtle celebrations of summer haven vibrations where land meets sea, Madden’s solo efforts are reflective of much of the spiraling elements that evaporate and slowly disperse into a cosmic suburbia. Its rolling black outs and feverish mania trips ”Mission Impossible” wires connected to creative mayhem and softened costal bliss. A detonation of sunshine and a somewhat blinding schedule of neurology, “Taste the Hour” is an explicit contribution to the senses and prepares us for a positive spring and a steady summer ahead.
The album’s first single, “Free Again” depicts a decrepit sunset of outlaw country dust both atmospheric and animated. A mild number with polymer tidal waves, the album features 8 tracks of trident sharpened songs all cascading into some paisley earth vacuum. A digital handshake that acknowledges its mighty muses, an economy of sound and textures, Madden captures what he does so well with Color Green on his first solo effort, but leans more into his songwriting abilities across its alabaster landscape. A pool of warm paint playing some part in an esoteric bathing ritual, “Taste the Hour” is a uniquely committed fever dream of balanced expression and carefully placed urns of past, present and future. Set for release with UK based label Worried Songs, the album will be widely available on March 22nd.
